DUSIT ZOO
Formerly part of Dusit Royal Garden called Kh odin-wana, it was built by command of King Rama V as his private botanical garden. Later, King Rama VIII donated the park to the Bangkok Municipal Administration so that it could be used as a zoo and public park.
Inside is the collection of mammals, birds and reptiles in conditions resembling their natural environments. Several species are rare or close to extinction. As well as its educational value and contribution to breeding and conserving animal species, the zoo has always been a favourite recreational destination for Bangkok people
