Mu Koh Ang Thong are a chain of forty-two islands in the waters near Koh Samui. Day trips to these islands can be arranged from Koh Samui. These tours are available every day of the week and you can select which of the islands you wish to explore.
Location
Mu Koh Ang Thong Marine National Park, located in close proximity to Koh Samui, consists of forty-two islands. Most of the island affairs are conducted from National Park Office on Koh Wua Ta Lap. This island has accommodations like bungalows and campsites.

Highlights

Koh WuaTa Lap: Koh WuaTa Lap, located thirty-two kilometers from Samui, is the biggest island in the chain. Here, you will find the majority of the accommodations, restaurants, and campsites. The beautiful beaches offer a canoeing service and the hill provides panoramic views of the entire chain.

Koh Mae Koh

Koh Mae Koh: North of Koh Wua Ta Lap is Koh Mae Koh. This island is part of a circle made from a volcano underneath the water's surface. There is a viewpoint on the hill that can be reached via a charming wooden bridge.

Koh Sam Sao

Koh Sam Sao: On the opposite side of Koh Mae Koh is Koh Sam Sao. These two islands are connected by a barely submerged peninsula, which creates a bridge during low tide. In addition to pristine beaches, the coral reef draws people to this island to swim and snorkel in the peaceful surrounding.

How to Get There
From the town of SuratThani, take highway 401 to Nakhon Si Thammarat. Drive for thirty-eight kilometers and then turn left onto highway 4142. Continue driving for twenty-one kilometers to the Don Sak Pier. The total distance from Surat Thani is fifty-nine kilometers.
From Koh Samui, you can take a one-day tour by boat. The tours oppperate everyday. The boat leaves from Nathon Pier at 8:30 am. It takes one and a half-hours. The speedboat from Bo Phut Pier takes thirty to forty minutes.
