   Koh Mak Trat

This island, thirty-five kilometers from the Laem Ngob Pier, has beautiful beaches lined with coconut trees, perfect for visitors looking for privacy. While it is smaller than Koh Chang in size, its views and serenity are second to none.
Location
Koh Mak, in King Amphoe Koh Kood, has a twenty-seven meter long road around it. The landscape is relatively flat allowing for larger beaches. In the surrounding area of the island are Koh Kham, Koh Ranyang Nok, and Koh Rayang Nai.
Highlights
Ao Nit Pier
The Ao Nit Pier: Located on the East side of the island istheAo Nit Pier. This pier serves as the nerve center and breadbasket for the island. This is where the local islanders come to buy their groceries and sell their products.

Ao Suan Yai
Ao Suan Yai: Ao Suan Yai is the longest and most beautiful beach on the island. There are many coconut and indigenous Thai trees lining the sand. It is possible to take a boat directly to this beach and stay
at the Koh Mak Resort. This
is a popular place to watch the sunset over the horizon.

Ao Khao
Ao Khao: Ao Khao, next to Ao Suan Yai, is a wide and peaceful beach where you can swim and enjoy the colorful hues created by the setting sun.

Ao Holiday Beach
Ao Holiday Beach: Ao Holiday Beach, as its name describes, is the location of the Holiday Beach Resort. This quiet beach is perfect for swimming or just sitting under the shade of one of the many coconut trees.

Ao Lazy Day
Ao Lazy Day: Ao Lazy Day is one of the many stunning beaches on this island. Lazy Day is perfect for tourists looking to have just that, a lazy day.
The Khao Phaen Thi Viewpoint: The Khao Phaen Thi Viewpoint sits atop the highest point on Koh Mak. From here, you can see the entire island as well as the other islands nearby.
How to Get There
From the town of Trat, take Highway 3148 to Laem Ngob. The Laem Ngob Pier is just fourteen kilometers down the road. Boats leave for the island once a day, at 3 p.m. The boat ride to the island takes three hours.
