Kaeng Krachan National Park is the largest park in Thailand. There are many activities to enjoy while you’re here like trekking, camping, and bird and butterfly watching. This National Park is located in Amphoe Kheng Krachan, Amphoe Nong Ya Plong, and Amphoe Khao Yoi in the Phetchaburi Province. The Kaeng Krachan Dam : Located in the valley, producing an immense lake. In the water, there are several large rocks jutting from the surface, creating over thirty islands. At the lake, you can rent a long-tail boat to tour the area. In addition to views, there are many restaurants to satisfy your hunger as well as your palate.
The Tho Thip Waterfall : To get to the Tho Thip Waterfall, you must begin walking from kilometer marker 36.5. From here, you must trek through the forest for four kilometers. This waterfall has nine levels; the largest and most majestic is the fifth level. Like most waterfalls, the best time to visit is during the rainy season.
The Nature Trails : There are four separate trails you can take to enhance your knowledge of the area. Each trail is unique and teaches different aspects of the park. The trails are relatively short, making it is possible to explore them all in one day.
Bird and Butterfly Watching : Since the surrounding forest is so dense, it attracts many butterflies and birds. From the moment you will see many rare species not visible in the rest of the country. Birds can be seen particularly well in the country. Birds can be seen particularly well in the higher altitudes, while the butterflies tend to inhabit areas around water like the creeks and ponds. How to Get There Form the town of Phetchaburi, use Highway 4. Turn right in Amphoe The Yang. Take Highway 3449 to the end, where you will see the entrance to the National Park. The total distance from Phetchaburi is fifty – one kilometers.
