   THE REMBRANDT
THE REMBRANDT

The Rembrandt hotel combines traditional Thai service with the highest European standards to create a unique blend of style and elegance. The result is a truly sumptuous first-class hotel, built at a cost of over US$50 million. Situated on Sukhumvit Soi 18, only minutes away from the main road, the 26-storey hotel includes 406 rooms and various outlets to suit the tastes of the travelling businessman and the tourist. The General Manager, Mr. Heinrich Stocker, and his managing staff are always on hand to ensure the successful and competent operation of the hotel. The hotel's majestic, domed atrium lobby creates a first impression of spaciousness and quiet elegance.

To the right, the Lobby Bar provides an intimate meeting place for business or pleasure. Cool pastel colours in marble blend with the richness of Thai woods, carved I and decorated in traditional style to give an overall warm feeling of Sawasdee.
The Rembrandt's deluxe guest rooms and suites offer a thoughtful combination of convenient facilities and fabulous comfort. The multichannel television provides every choice, from in-house cinema programmes to satellite broadcasts and local and international selections.

Each room has a view, relaxing sitting area, prestocked minibar, super-size beds, a telephone and superbly appointed spacious marble bathroom. In-room safes highlight a series of security measures, whilst a chime at the door can be electronically silenced when the "do-not-disturb" message is activated from a bedside console. Room service is naturally available 24 hours a day, and there are full valet and laundry services.

On The Rembrandt's fourth floor is the large L-shaped swimming pool and sun-soaked patio. Close to the pool bar which serves snacks and refreshments is a superbly equipped gymnasium. When it is time for business, what is probably Bangkok's best appointed Business Centre, serves the executive on the move. A series of seminar rooms, fully equipped with audio-video
facilities and comfortable chairs for up to 20 participants, is readily available.

The Banquet Room, seating up to 800 guests in magnificent style, provides the ideal setting for the big occasion. Smaller functions are catered to by the pre-banqueting rooms which adapt to suit the needs of a variety of occasions. Dining opportunities offer both local

and international cuisine enhanced with additional specialities. The Cafe coffee shop also provides much more than the traditional 24-hour service. Decorated in pink marble, it seats around 130 diners in sumptuous opulence and provides a menu that is both extensive and tempting.
Then there is Senor Pico Bar & Restaurant, Bangkok's first genuine Mexican bar and restaurant serving genuine Mexican cuisine with live music in the evenings. It has an authentic Mexican atmosphere created by Senor Pico of Los Angeles.

Cocktails at Senor Pico and long drinks are blended mostly with white or Anejo tequila and fresh fruit juices as the main ingredient recalling the ancient recipes based on the fermented sap of Maguey still used in many rural areas of Mexico. The restaurant offers a tempting variety of traditional Mexican dishes such as Fajitas, Carnitas, Enchiladas, and a range of south-of-the-border snacks — Bocados, Antojitos, and cocktails-Copitas.

On the rooftop 26th floor is the Rang Mahal Indian restaurant, where Indian chefs flown from India promise a culinary treat of the exotic cuisine of South Asia. Indian drinks and desserts are available to complement the food all served against a background of live authentic Indian music in the evenings. Cuisine ranges from Mughlai, Nawabi to the fiery extreme of Frontier cuisine cooked with carefully selected herbs and spices to ensure that every morsel is redolent of the authentic taste.

The dishes on offer include the predominant cuisine from North India and north-west frontier such as Kebabs, Ashrafi Kebab, Raan-E-Khyber, Indian bread and sweeta as well as a wide variety of vegetarian dishes. Commanding a panoramic view of Bangkok, it has been carefully decorated with Indian silk and genuine artefacts to recreate

feelings of elegance and authenticity resembling a Maharajah's dining room in early days. The well-trained and friendly staff, dressed in typical Indian attire, combine with the setting to complete the atmosphere of Indian grandeur.
