Had Ban Krud Prachuap Khiri Khan
The sleepy little town of Had Ban Krud has recently becomes famous because the protests held concerning the construction of electricity plants in the area. The locals were, and still are, very concerned about keeping their environment as pristine as possible. While in the Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, tourists would be remiss to not visit the beautiful white-sand beaches and coral reefs of Had Ban Krud.
Location
Had Ban Krud is located in Amphoe Bang Saphan. The beach here is twelve kilometers long. Between Had Ban Krud and Had Thang Sai is mountain separating these two quite beaches. The locals still retain their traditional life styles by growing coconuts and fishing.

Had Ban Krud: Had Ban Krud is a twelve kilometers long beach with clean sand and crystal clear water. When visiting this area you will be most impressed by the lack of high-rise resorts and pollution. There are ample accommodations in the area, but they are spread out to keep the crowds at a minimum. Following the beach is a charming coconut lined road that allows you to access the water with ease.
Khao Thong Char : Khao Thong Chai is a small hill at the northern corner of the beach. If you take the road to the top, you can visit an enormous golden Buddha built in the Kanthara style. Also on the hill is the Kao Yod Chedi. From atop this perch you will be able to both Had Ban Krud and Had Thang Sai in their entirety.
Diving: Near Koh Lam Ra there is a fertile coral reef supporting many different types of sea life. Since it is only 200 meters from shore, a dive trip can be taken in an afternoon. There are also reefs located off of Koh Thalu if you want to get off the beaten track.
How to Get There From the town of Prachuap Khiri Khan, take Highway 4 to Bang Saphan until you reach kilometer marker 382. Turn left here and continue for eleven kilometers down this charming road to Had Ban Krud. The total distance from Prachuap Khiri Khan is eighty-six kilometers.
