Doi Luang Chiang Dao Chiang Mai

Doi Luang Chiang Dao is in the Doi Luang Chaing Dao Wildlife Sanctuary, in Amphoe Chaing Dao, Amphoe Wiang Haeng in the Chaing Mai Province. This is the third highest mountain in Thailand.
Location
Doi Mon Chong is located in the Om Koi Wildlife Sanctuary, in Amphoe Om Koi and Amphoe Doi Tao in the Chiang Mai Province and Amphoe Sam Ngao in the Tak Province. The forest here is the headwater for Bhumibol Dam. The road to Doi Mon Chong is in Amphoe Om Koi in the Chiang Mai Province.

Highlights

Doi Luang Chiang Dao

Doi Luang Chiang Dao: It is 2,225 meters above sea level. Atop of the mountain you can watch the sunset and enjoy the beautiful views of the areas below.

Doi Pyramid

Doi Pyramid: This mountain looks like a pyramid or the hump pon a camel back. It is 2,175 meters above sea level.

Doi Sam Phi Nong

Doi Sam Phi Nong: This is a mountain with three summits. The middle is being the highest at 2,150 meters above sea level. It's not good to walk there because it is very steep.

Ang Sailing

Ang Sailing: Ang Salung is a valley at Doi Luang Chiang Dao. This is a good place to camp. From here you can walk to the top of Doi Luang Chiang Dao. The path from Doi Luang Chiang Dao starts from Den Ya Khad Ranger Unit. It take four to six hours to reach Ang Salung. Here you can camp.

How to Get There
From the town of Chaing Mai, take highway 107 to Amphoe Chaing Dao. Here you will go to Kilometer 76. Turn left here and go straight for five kilometers to the Chaing Dao Cave. Here you will see the mini bus that will take you Den Ya Khad Ranger Unit. The total distance from Chaing Mai is 77 kilometers.
